Objectives

·   to advertise and publish course details and project results
·   to evaluate the performance of the training measures
·   to liaise with the associated (advisory) groups, collect input and comments and manage discussion between consortium and groups
·   to perform accreditation of ECTS points with universities of participants
·   to liaise and interface with the LEONARDO programme elements

Description of work

WT 5.1: Course Programme (RISOEDTU, JUELICH, ULSTER, HELIO)

Establishment of the programme elements to be realised according to the curriculum (WP 2):

·   lecture titles and duration
·   lecturer recruitment
The course elements will include a summer school of new type (cf. WT 2.1) and some distance learning modules. Due to the limited resources, it will not be possible to run a 'complete' course as designed by the consortium.

WT 5.2: Evaluation of Test Course (JUELICH, RISOEDTU, ULSTER, HELIO)

It is essential to assess the success and relevance of the performed measures in evaluating their potential towards improving the European human resources situation in FCH technologies. Therefore the following indicators will be evaluated:

·   educational potential for participants
·   participants expectations (general and prior to courses)
·   acceptance of course concept in education community (e.g. ECTS pts, compatibility with existing training at universities etc.)
·   success of implementation of concept within WP 4, organisational and tuitional experiences etc.
·   industry expectations and contribution to hiring rates of participants

The final point will be subject to activities that remain after project termination since the results of the project activities will hardly be measurable within the time frame of two years.

WT 5.3: Liaison (JUELICH, RISOEDTU, ULSTER)

Interaction with a variety of stakeholders - industry, educational system representatives - and finally the FCH JU and EU as the commissioning institution(s) is essential in securing the success of the project and successful implementation of its concept(s) into the European educational system. Critical points to cover are:

·   ECTS point accrediting
·   liaison with the committees
·   analysis and evaluation of feedback from public and committees as input to refinement of work in WP 2-4
·   managing a dialogue process with the FCH JU and Commission
·   interfacing and liaison with LEONARDO (da Vinci) programme elements and offers, e.g. by using LEONARDO elements to enhance the project activities (e.g. by applying for Accompanying Measures funding for initiating dialogue about, discussion on and dissemination of project results)

At mid-term (middle of Oct. 2011), the project will hold a workshop meeting aiming at discussing project results so far with a wider audience of stakeholders from educational bodies, the EU (incl. FCH JU) and industry. The workshop is intended to function as a sounding-board for determining the proper alignment of the project course with the actual needs of industry and the possibilities of the educational system.

WT 5.4: Public Reporting and Dissemination (JUELICH, RISOEDTU, ULSTER, HELIO)

Preparation of project results in public reports, journal articles, at EU conferences and workshops in order to raise public awareness of the activities and achieve acceptance of the concept with European players.

Two project workshops will be held:

·   The first at project mid-term in order to present and discuss findings and suggestions from the project (MS9 - Workshop-Conference on European Education in fuel cells and hydrogen).
·   The second at the end of the project to discuss and hand over the project results.
As necessary for conducting the course elements according to WT 4.1. The task will build on the extensive experience of the consortium members in organising the SOFC summer schools, the FCH academy and the Hydrogen Safety courses.
